憍賞彌

(憍賞彌, 憍赏弥)

Kauśāmbī, also [lang id =1028]憍閃彌 (or [lang id =1028]憍睒彌); [lang id =1028]倶睒彌; 'an ancient city on the Ganges in the lower part of the Doab.' M.W. It has been identified by some with Kusia near Kurrah; but is the village of Koṣam on the Jumna, 30 miles above Allahabad. Cf. [lang id =1028]巨.
